The Lucy Ward Band
Nominated for BBC Folk Singer of the Year 2014
2012 BBC Folk Horizon Award (Best Newcomer)
The Lucy Ward Band is the coming together of 6 fantastic musicians, to grow and enhance the sound of Lucy’s award winning material.
Lucy will be joined on stage by Belinda O’Hooley and Heidi Tidow (O’Hooley and Tidow) – Piano, accordion, harmonium, vox and guitar, Steve MacLachlan (formerly from The Willows) – Percussion, Joy Gravestock – Fiddle, Sam Pegg – Bass
Lucy has been touring solidly as a solo artist for 5 years now, and the forming of The Lucy Ward Band is an opportunity for her to spread her wings and try something new.
Her own unique brand of performance and audience connection will remain firmly in place and you will be able to hear ‘live’ the strength of Lucy’s musicality and her natural ability to arrange music. Or as Lucy so ably put it: ‘It’s all the stuff I can hear when I write a song, but don’t have enough arms to play!’
So there you have it! Lucy is really looking forward to cutting loose with a group of fantastic musicians and sharing her music with you. www.lucywardsings.com
