Caerphilly Workmen's Hall

90 years at the heart of the community

Background & History: In 1906 a group of local men from the local collieries began the welfare movement in Caerphilly, they established a welfare organisation within the town that soon expanded to include a cinema building, snooker rooms and a theatre. These recreational activities lasted for the larger part of the century, until the 1990's where upon it was decided, with the consent of the Coal Industry Social Welfare Organisation that the cinema building would be sold and the monies invested into the main hall, located in Castle Street.

The Hall is owned by the Coal Industry Social and Welfare Organisation (CISWO) and run and maintained by a hardy group of volunteers, with a range of skills that will ensure your event will pass trouble free.
